Me, Myself.. And Travelling.

Travelling changed me, it did not stop me from being a sinner, or make me a saint, but it helped me understand the difference between the two. Not even that dramatic, it taught me to respect the small things. Something as simple as putting the butter back in the fridge. The fact that you can make someone breakfast, but it really does not mean that much if you leave every ingredient and utensil scattered over the kitchen. It reinforces the fact that every single person can be from any walk of life but at the end of the day, whether we go about it one way or another, we know the difference between wrong and right. I know that the extra money towards making it a short haul as opposed to a long-haul flight is worth every cent, and that if you are going to be stuck in a place longer than expected, that it is who you are with, not what you are with. I know that every airport, every city and every country has factions. You can be little fish big pond, big fish little pond, but do not forget for one moment to respect your pond, or all the fish that want nothing more than to swim there. Don’t forget the power of language. We think we know everything and that English reigns supreme. It does, until you find yourself in another country, suffering intense anxiety, and realizing you cannot understand the people or signs well enough to find the closest toilet. You might feel confident with just one person as company but try that scenario again when you are alone. Enjoy every moment, but just remember it is reality with a different view, and maybe more or less loved ones depending on your reality. Either way, make the most of it. At the end of the day, it may feel like you merely detoured from your life path and ended up returning to the same point. We both know that you learnt some life changing truths along the way. You also stepped out of your comfort zone. Major respect to that.
